This scholarship was established in honor of Austin E. Knowlton, also known as “Dutch”, who was a pioneering entrepreneur and philanthropist and the owner and Chairman of the Knowlton Construction Company. Mr. Knowlton started his company in Bellefontaine, OH in 1937 (predecessors of the company date back to 1906). During his life, Mr. Knowlton and his company were responsible for over 600 major and significant construction projects in Ohio and the Midwest, including school buildings, hospitals, libraries and post offices. For more information on Austin E. Knowlton, click here. The Austin E. Knowlton Scholarship is awarded to an academic scholar from any Ohio high school.
Chatfield’s Honor Scholarship is available to all graduates in southwest Ohio. The scholarship is awarded based on consideration of academic ability, leadership potential, goal clarity, and community involvement. A final high school grade point average of 3.0 is required.
The scholarship may be applied to tuition and fee charges only. A commitment of attending Chatfield for two full-time years and graduating is required. Full-year scholarship funds are normally divided equally between Fall and Spring semesters.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
To qualify, all applicants must submit the following items:
-Chatfield College Application for Admission
-Proof of satisfactory completion of high school with a 3.0 grade average
-Completed scholarship application
-Completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
