Transfer to Chatfield

Sometimes your first pick of college wasn’t what you thought it’d be. We’re here to make your transfer as smooth as possible and help you down the path to degree completion!

Chatfield has a residency requirement, meaning you must take at least 17 credit hours at Chatfield to obtain a degree.

Step 1: Complete an application for admission  and select “transfer applicant.”

Step 2: Submit proof of graduation/GED or a copy of high school transcripts to admissions@chatfield.edu. If needed, you can request GED scores here.

Step 3: College or university transcripts.

  • Chatfield requires official transcripts from all previous institutions attended in order to process your application.
  • Please contact the registrar’s office at the college you wish to transfer credit from and request your official transcripts be sent directly to the Office of the Registrar at registrar@chatfield.edu  or mailed to the Office of the Registrar, 20918 St. Rt. 251, St. Martin, OH 45118. This office serves both campuses.
  • Upon graduation or completion of your final semester at your current school, request a final transcript be sent directly to Chatfield’s Office of the Registrar to determine your final admission status. Receipt of your final transcript impacts financial aid disbursement and your eligibility to register for classes.

Step 4: ACT/SAT is optional. You do not need to submit ACT/SAT scores. However, if you wish to use your scores as an alternative measure for course placement we will accept them.

Step 5: Fill out the FAFSA. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is used to award grants, loans, Federal Work-Study, and certain scholarships. Chatfield’s Federal School Code is 010880.

Step 6Meet with a financial aid counselor to create your affordability plan. We will help you review your financial aid eligibility and discuss how many credit hours works best with your budget.

Step 7: Register for classes. You will meet with an academic advisor to discuss your goals and choose classes for the semester.

Step 8: Attend new student orientation. Returning students are required to attend orientation in order to learn of new systems, policies, etc. New student orientation is an important piece of a successful start. You will receive information about when orientation is offered. It is required that you attend a session.
