Chatfield College New Guidance for COVID-19 Safety
Last week the CDC issued new guidance for individuals who have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Earlier this week, the Governor of Ohio made the following announcement:
“Ohio will be amending our remaining health orders to comply with the new CDC guidance, which says that those who have been vaccinated no longer need to wear masks, while those who have not been vaccinated should still wear a mask and socially distance.
“The CDC still recommends everyone wear masks when they are in a healthcare setting, when they are traveling on public transportation, including airplanes, and when they are in a business or employer that chooses to require masks. Our order will be amended to reflect these recommendations, as well.”
Throughout the Coronavirus pandemic, we have consistently followed the CDC and State of Ohio guidance concerning COVID-19 prevention. We have operated in a safe environment without any disruption in overall campus operations while providing in-person classes, student support, and office functions because of the diligent practice of following our established prevention protocols.
Therefore, today we are announcing that we will follow the latest CDC guidance and will not require masking for fully vaccinated individuals on campus or at campus events. Individuals may still elect to wear a mask while on campus.
If you have not been vaccinated, we encourage you to do so as this is the most effective way to prevent the spread and complications of COVID-19.
