Chatfield Welcomes Dr. Aubrey Thamann

Dr. Aubrey Thamann has joined Chatfield as the Coordinator of Instructional Design and LMS integration.  Dr. Thamann received her Doctorate from Purdue University in 2016 and is an American Studies scholar and anthropologist. Her dissertation research involved an ethnographic study of funeral directors in Indiana, focusing on the social role they play in offering the shared experience of collective grief in the funeral. She has taught widely in the fields of Anthropology, American studies, and Sociology since 2014.  Prior to joining Chatfield, Dr. Thamann was Campus Dean at Mid-America College of Funeral Service in Louisville, KY where she helped to transition the College to best practices in distance education.  She has been involved with distance learning as a teacher and an administrator since 2016. In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching scary movies with her husband, and playing with their two dogs.
